The Presque Isle County Jail has a 24 bed capacity. There are 4 full time corrections officers and 2 part time correctional officers employed at the jail. The Presque County Jail is the only jail located in Presque Isle County. The jail holds inmates of either a minimum or maximum security classification. The jail houses inmates in the work release program and inmates sentenced up to one year. Mugshots are not available for arrested offenders.

How to Send Mail or Package

Mail must be sent to inmates using the U.S. Postal Service. All mail is subject to inspection by corrections staff. Mail is distributed to inmates at a regular time each day. To make a deposit on an inmate’s commissary account, users may visit www.jailatm.com, or they can call (866)933-6386. Family and friends will be required to provide their debit/credit card information, the jail location and name of the facility, the inmate’s full name, and the individual’s billing address. Family and friends also have the option of depositing funds into an inmate’s account using the kiosk available in the jail lobby.

Visitation Hours

Inmates are permitted one 30 minute visit per visiting day. The visiting hours are Thursday and Sunday from 9 am to 11:30 am, 1 pm to 4:30 pm, and 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Each inmate is allowed up to four visitors at a time. If any minor is present, they must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Every visitor must show a photo ID prior to their visit. Each visit needs to be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance.

The website offers the ability to search for inmates based on their name, location, and ID number or case number. The search will return a list of inmates who fit the criteria provided in the search. information available on this domain includes the offender’s name, age, record details, case number, cse status, and plea status. The arresting agency will be listed along with the inmate’s information.

The individual is then directed to a webpage including all the matches for the search criteria. Upon expanding a selection, the inmates name, age, and record details will be made visible. The inmate’s case status, case number, and plea status are also shown. Lastly, the reporting agency and its address is included.

The goal of the Sheriff’s Office is to create a safe environment for inmates, employees, and citizens of Presque Isle County. An FOIA request can be filled out upon request with the Sheriff’s Office. The Presque County Sheriff’s Office provides reports about complaints or incidents that have been filed with them. To have a copy of a report mailed to you, $10 must be paid by check or money order. Reports that exceed 10 pages will cost $20.
