Menominee County Jail Information and Inmate Search

The Menominee County Jail currently has 51 beds. Inmates are allowed to make commissary orders every day of the week. The jail provides basic human needs in terms of food, shelter, and clothing. Inmates receive a classification as either maximum, medium, or minimum-level security. Classification is determined during the initial booking interview and weighs such factors as an inmate’s current charges and previous convictions. Inmates are served three meals a day at 6 am, 11:30 am, and 4 pm. The Menominee County Jail offers eligible inmates the ability to reduce their sentence through the trustee and inmate worker programs. The jail administrative hours are 6:30 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Jail operations function 24 hours, 7 days a week. Mugshots are not available for arrested offenders.

How to Send Mail or Package

All mail incoming or outgoing is subject to inspection for contraband. Mail containing photographs will be photocopied with the copy being distributed to the recipient. Mail from attorneys, courts, and government officials will not be photocopied, but may be inspected in front of the inmate to confirm the sender or check for contraband. Mail that is rejected for security reasons will be forwarded back to the sender with an explanation as to why the mail was rejected. Money can be deposited in an inmate’s account at the kiosk available in the lobby of the jail 24/7. Money can also be deposited online at www.govpaynow.com. Money orders may be sent via mail, and will subsequently be placed into the inmate’s account.

Visitation Hours

Visitation is available through appointment only. Visits take place on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The first visit is scheduled for 10 am and the last visit is scheduled for 5:50 pm. Inmates are permitted two 30 minute visits per week. Family and friends also have the option of sending messages and conducting video visits through CIDNET. To use this service, data must be purchased. The data will expire as phone calls, messages, and video visits are conducted through the service. Appointments need to be arranged 24 hours in advance.

Additional Jail Information

Inmates are required to pay a $25 Inmate Administration Fee as well as a $12 booking fee once admitted into the jail. Jail clothing and slippers will be distributed to each inmate. Inmates are responsible for this clothing and may have to pay a fine if the clothing is damaged or needs to be replaced. Inmates are permitted one phone call after the booking process has concluded, but may make phone calls seven days a week while incarcerated. Cell searches are conducted randomly to ensure facility safety; any contraband found will result in disciplinary action.

Menominee County Public Records Information

The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) gives all persons access to public records of government institutions; this includes information on the affairs of the government and public officials. A copy of the FOIA form is available on the Menominee County Sheriff’s website, and must be submitted to the Office of the County Administrator. Each request must be submitted in writing either through fax, email, or in-person. The Menominee County Sheriff’s Office will issue a response to the FOIA request within 5 business days. The fee charged for the FOIA request depends upon labor costs, costs of creating copies, cost of materials, and cost to mail the record. FOIA requests must include the individual’s name, address, and contact information as well as details of the incident.
