Lake County Jail Information and Inmate Search

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office consists of over 100 deputized personnel. The Lake County Corrections Division is divided into two divisions. The first division is the main jail, which currently has a capacity of 48. The second division is the Lake County Residential Reentry Program, which currently has a capacity of 300 (240 males and 60 females). The Residential Reentry Program accommodates offenders on parole for a period of 90 to 120 days.

How to Send Mail or Package

Inmates are permitted to receive mail that is sent via USPS to the Lake County Jail. The mail must contain the sender’s name and return address. All mail is checked for contraband. Mail containing contraband or lewd material will be withheld from the inmate or destroyed.

Visitation Hours

Lake County visitation hours take place Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 11:00 am, 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, and 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Visiting hours for Saturday and Sunday are 8:00 am to 11:00 am and 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Virtual visits are possible and take place 8 am to 10 pm Monday through Sunday.

Lake County Public Records Information

The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) enables all persons access to public records of public bodies; this includes information on the affairs of the government and government officials. The Lake County Sheriff’s Administration office is open Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Reports are eligible for request 5 to 10 business days after they have been filed. Accident reports cost $10 each. Incident reports can be obtained at the Administration office or by filing an FOIA request. Incident reports also cost $10 each.
