Visitation Hours
All inmate visits are done through video. Each inmate is allowed one 30 minute visit per week. Appointments are scheduled using the website www.securustech.online. Visitors must first create an account and then get approved by jail staff. Visits can be scheduled Monday through Sunday from 8 am to 11 pm. If it is not possible for an individual to do a remote visit, they may use the computer terminal located in the Sheriff’s Office. Onsite visits are free, but may only be scheduled for Wednesday, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 1 pm to 4 pm.
Additional Jail Information
To look up information about an inmate, the Oceana County Jail encourages individuals to use the VINE website at www.vinelink.com. The VINE website offers a search function that allows the individual to look up an inmate based on the state they are located in and their name, ID number, or case number. The individual is then directed to a webpage including all the matches for the search criteria. Upon expanding a selection, the inmates name, age, and record details will be made visible. The inmate’s case status, case number, and plea status are also shown. Lastly, the reporting agency and its address is included.

Oceana County Public Records Information
The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) grants all persons access to government records; this includes information on the affairs of the government agencies and government workers. To file an FOIA request, email tbyard@oceana.mi.us. FOIA forms are available on the Oceana County website. The Oceana County Sheriff’s Office will issue a response within 5 business days. The fee associated with the FOIA request depends upon the labor costs, costs of copying and duplication, cost of computer discs, and cost to mail the record. Individuals are required to input their name, address, and contact information with each request. An FOIA request should have enough information so it is feasible for the clerk to find the appropriate records.
