Branch County Jail Information and Inmate Search
The Branch County Jail is located in Coldwater, Michigan. The 63,398 square foot facility was completed in 2021. It is a single-level design divided into four different areas: inmate housing, support, booking and release, public, and the Sheriff’s Office. It houses 54 cells, 11 dayrooms, and 4 dormitories. It was designed on a 21.7 acre site with the possibility of expansion, including the possible addition of a housing pod north of the building, which would hold 200 beds.

How to Send Mail or Package
Inmates may receive only metered, unstamped, white postcards no larger than 6” x 8”. Writing must be in blue or black ink or pencil. The contents of the message may not contain any information that threatens jail order, espouses racial supremacy, or provides instruction in any form of fighting. Postcards should be addressed to:

Money may be added to inmates’ accounts in person, online, or by phone. To add funds in person, the public should use the kiosk machine in the jail lobby, which accepts cash and debit/credit cards. The machine charges a transaction fee. Money can be added online through Express Account. Select “Send Money,” then “Branch County Facility” and locate the inmate through a search for their last name. Money can also be deposited by phone at (866)442-6833. Online and phone deposits are limited to Visa and Mastercard.
