How to Send Mail or Package

Mail can be sent to inmates via USPS. All incoming mail will be checked for contraband; mail containing prohibited items will be placed in the inmate’s property. Magazine and newspaper subscriptions can be sent to inmates directly from the publisher. A maximum of five items is permitted. Money can be deposited online via debit/credit card or in-person at a kiosk located in the jail lobby. Money cannot be sent through the mail, and a maximum of $400 can be maintained on the inmate’s account at a time.

Visitation Hours

In-person visitation has been suspended at the Macomb County Jail, and visits are conducted exclusively remotely. The first visit is free, but a fee is applied to any visits conducted thereafter. Inmates are permitted 2 visits per week, but some trustees may be granted 3 visits per week. Visitors must register the visit 24 hours prior to the visit.

There is a $6 fee for incident/accident reports. Fees for FOIA requests include labor costs and 10 cents per printed page. The hours for the Records Office are 8 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday.
