Marquette County Jail Information and Inmate Search

The Marquette County jail has a capacity of 80 beds, but can also house an additional 10 federal inmates. The jail consists of three floors that are divided into blocks where inmates are classified based on the severity of their crimes. The service window of the jail is open everyday at all times with the exception of the following times: 6:45 am to 7:15 am, 11:45 am to 12:!5 pm, and 4:45 pm to 5:15 pm. Mugshots are not available for arrested offenders.

How to Send Mail or Package

Inmates are able to receive postcards sent via USPS to the county jail. However, individuals also have the option of sending an e-message through the platform on www.securustech.net. If an individual wishes to send an inmate money, they must first create on account on jailatm.com, then deposit money via debit/credit card. There is also an option to deposit money onto an inmate’s account using the ATM located at the jail.

Visitation Hours

Visits may be conducted remotely using the online platform www.videovisitanywhere.com. Individuals must create an account, then select the time in which type would like to have their visit. Visits are also available in-person and will not incur a fee. In-person visits can be scheduled using one of the visiting terminals located in the visiting room at the Sheriff’s Office. Visiting hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 6 pm to 9 pm, and Sundays from 8 am to 11 am and 1 pm to 4:30 pm.

Additional Jail Information

Inmates are required to pay a housing fee of $60 per day while housed at the Marquette County Jail. Inmates are also responsible for paying for any medical or mental health services rendered while incarcerated. Inmates may set up payment plans with the Housing/Medical Reimbursement Specialist if need be. Any delinquent payments will be directed to a collections agency and could be subject to civil action.

The Sheriff is responsible for short-term and long-term planning, developing new policies, and facilitating the administrative functions of the department. The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office operates its own county jail. The Sheriff’s Office is open Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm.

Marquette County Public Records Information

The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) enables all citizens access to records of government bodies; this includes information on the affairs of the government and the officials who operate within it. The FOIA request form is available on the Marquette County Sheriff’s webpage, and requires individuals to provide their name, address, and contact information. The form must be submitted in writing via mail or in-person. The Sheriff’s Office will respond to each request within 5 business days. Fees for FOIA requests are assessed according to 6 criteria: labor costs for searching for the record, labor costs for reviewing the record, the cost of computer discs, the cost of duplication or publication, the cost of labor associated with duplication and publication, and the cost to mail the request.
