St. Clair County Jail Information and Inmate Search

The St. Clair County Jail was first built in 1827. It has since been replaced by a new 200,000 square foot facility that houses both adult and juvenile offenders. Telephones are available in the jail area, but are only able to transmit outgoing calls. The individual receiving the call is responsible for accepting the charges necessary for the call to go through. Trustees are selected from a pool of sentenced inmates who are not a security risk, nor have a history of violent acts. Trustees primarily work in the food service area or perform custodial work. The St. Clair County Jail operates an inmate lookup service in which mugshots are available for arrested offenders.

Visitation Hours

To arrange a visit with inmates, visitors must create an account on www.videovisitanywhere.com. Inmates are permitted one 30 minute visit onsite, which is free of charge. If the visitor neglects to show up, it counts as that inmate’s visit for the week. There is a maximum of three visitors per visit. Children under the age of 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Visitors must provide a photo ID, and children must have a birth certificate to visit. Visits are conducted Sunday through Thursday between 12:15 am and 7:45 pm, except for during dinner hour (5 pm). Visits will be terminated if deemed necessary by security personnel, or if an individual engages in misconduct or uses abusive language. Visitors may schedule an unlimited amount of remote visits as long as it does not interfere with jail operations.
