How to Send Mail or Package

All mail incoming will be inspected for contraband. Mail containing photographs will be photocopied with the copy given to the recipient. Legal mail from attorneys, courts, and government officials will not be photocopied, but will be inspected in front of the inmate. Legal mail will remain confidential. Mail that is rejected for security reasons will be forwarded back to the sender or destroyed if there is no return address. Funds can be deposited in an inmate’s account at the kiosk available in the lobby of the jail 24/7. Money orders may be sent via mail, and will be deposited into the inmate’s account.

Visitation Hours

To schedule a remote or in-person visit, one must contact the Ontonagon County Sheriff’s Office. Onsite visits are 30 minutes maximum and are conducted 5 days a week. Visits are by appointment and must be scheduled 24 hours in advance. Both visitors and inmates must abide by jail rules as the visit is being conducted. Violation of visitation rules will result in the visit being terminated and visitation privileges will be revoked for the individual who committed the violation.

The individual is then directed to a webpage including all the matches for the search criteria. Among the information available in the search results is the inmate’s name, age, and record details will be made visible. The inmate’s case status, case number, and plea status are also shown. The agency that reported the crime is also listed along with their address and contact information.
