The Mason County Jail was originally constructed in 1954. It currently has a capacity of 104 beds and has a staff of 17 corrections officials. The jail operates its own kitchen with 3 kitchen staff who provide inmates with daily meals. Church services and rehabilitative services are offered to inmates while incarcerated. Jail services operate 24 hours, 7 days a week. Mugshots are not available for arrested offenders.

How to Send Mail or Package

Mail sent to inmates must be in the form of a white postcard no larger than 5×7. Mail must be sent via USPS otherwise it will not be accepted. The items allowed to be received by inmates include money order, postcards, magazines, and soft covered books. Only individuals on an inmate’s approved visitor’s list may deposit money onto an inmate’s commissary account. Deposits must be made during visiting hours or sent via USPS.

Visitation Hours

Visitation is only allowed on Saturdays and Sundays. Visits take place from 8 am to 11 am and 1 pm to 4:30 pm. Female inmates receive visitors on Saturdays from 8:30 am to 11 am. Male inmates with last names starting with the letters A-G receive visitors from 1 pm to 4:30 pm on Saturday. Male inmates with last names starting with the letters H-Z receive visitors on Sundays from 8:#0 am to 11 am and 1 pm to 4:30 pm. Visitors must be on the inmate’s visiting list and should be approved prior to the visit taking place. Video visits are also available and can be set up on www.icsolutions.com.

Additional Jail Information

Inmates are billed $35 per day during their stay at the Mason County Jail. If payment is made within 30 days of release, the inmate will receive a discount in the amount owed. However, if payment is not made within 30 days, the debt will be referred to a collections agency. Substance abuse counseling, mental health services, and health services are available to inmates. If medical treatment is necessary, the county can seek reimbursement.
