Classification is determined during the initial booking process and considers such factors as an inmate’s current charges and previous convictions. The Missaukee County Jail has trustee and inmate worker programs that allow eligible inmates the opportunity to reduce their sentences. Jail operations function 24 hours, 7 days a week. How to Send Mail or Package
All mail sent to inmates must be in the form of a postcard. No inappropriate material is permitted. Mail with inappropriate material or mail that is sprayed with perfume will be sent back to the original sender. Money can be deposited into an inmate’s account using the website www.jailatm.com. The kiosk at the Sheriff’s Office also offers an alternative for depositing funds into an inmate’s commissary account. Commissary includes items like candy, coffee, stationary, and playing cards. Once an inmate is released, they will be issued a check for the remaining balance of their account minus the amount owed to the jail for processing fees.
