How to Send Mail or Package

Mail can be sent to inmates so long as it does not threaten the security of the facility, encourage criminal activity, or contain contraband. Incoming mail is limited to postcards unless the mail pertains to legal matters. Mail is not processed on the weekends or holidays. Magazines and other publications are permitted if the inmate purchases them through a subscription. Money can be sent to an inmate for commissary online, in-person, or at a kiosk available at the jail.

Visitation Hours

Luce County visitation hours occur Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 11:00 am, 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, and 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Visiting hours for Saturday and Sunday take place 8:00 am to 11:00 am and 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Virtual visits are offered and can be scheduled any time from 8 am to 10 pm Monday through Sunday.

Luce County Public Records Information

The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) is a piece of legislation that provides all citizens access to public records of government agencies; this includes information on the affairs of the government and those who work for the government. The FOIA form and instructions on how to complete it are available online. The cost of each FOIA request is 10 cents per page plus postage charges and labor/material costs. FOIA requests require the individual to input their name, address, and contact information. Individuals claiming to be indigent may file an “Affidavit of Indigency,” thereby waiving the first $20 owed for the FOIA request.
