Visitation Hours

Visits to inmates at Huron County Jail are operated by ICSolutions. Remote and onsite video visits are available. Visitors 18 years of age and older may go to their website to create an account and register for visitation. Visits should be scheduled at least 12 hours and up to 2 weeks in advance. Inmates may receive one 30-minute onsite video visit per week and unlimited remote video visits. Remote visits cost $7.50. Up to 3 guests, not counting children 10 and under, may attend any visit. Neither inmates nor visitors can be more than 10 minutes late or the visit will be marked as missed.

The Huron County Sheriff’s Office operates the county jail. The administrative staff includes Sheriff Kelly J. Hanson, Undersheriff Duane Miller, and Executive Secretary Janice Pulasky. Office hours are 8am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday.

Huron County is located in the southeastern Lower Peninsula of Michigan, at the northern tip of an area called “the Thumb.” It has a total area of 2,137 square miles, over half of which are water. The county is largely agricultural. According to the 2020 US Census, it has a population of 31,407. The county seat and largest city is Bad Axe.
