The Lenawee County Jail is a detention center for all pre-trial and sentenced offenders in the county. Inmates are classified based on needs and risks. The jail provides sufficient meals and administers mental health treatment and medical aid as needed. How to Send Mail or Package

Mail can be sent to inmates so long as it does not jeopardize the security of the facility or encourage criminal activity. Incoming mail is limited to postcards unless the mail pertains to legal matters. Mail is not processed on the weekends or holidays. Inmates are permitted to receive books that are sent directly from a bookstore. Magazines and other publications are permitted if acquired through a subscription. Money can be sent to an inmate for commissary via three different methods: internet, telephone, and kiosk.

Visitation Hours

Inmates with last names starting with A-M are permitted visits on Saturday from 8 am to 10 pm. Inmates with last names starting with N-Z are permitted visits on Sunday from 9 am to 10 pm. The suspension period for visits is 6 pm to 8 pm. Visitors must be over 18 or have a parent or legal guardian present. Inmates are allowed four visitors. Adults must provide photo identification to visit inmates.
